Faculty of Business Organizes a Symposium on Rational Use of Energy in Light of Current Challenges


   Community Service and Environmental Development Department at Faculty of Business organized an awareness symposium titled, “Towards the Rational Use of Electrical Energy in Light of Current Challenges”, as part of its efforts to spread a culture of energy conservation and raise community awareness regarding current challenges. The symposium was held at 11:00 AM in the Conference Hall.
   The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohammed Hussain, President of Tanta University; Eng. Khalid Ghamry, Chairman of the South Delta Electricity Distribution Company; Prof. Mahmoud Salim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Yasser Al-Garf, Faculty Dean; and Prof. Ibrahim Obaid, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, under the supervision of Dr. Amr Abdennaby, Director of the Crisis and Disaster Management Unit at the Faculty.
   The symposium was delivered by Eng. Mohammed Metwally, the engineer assigned to supervise the Energy Rationalization Department at the South Delta Electricity Distribution Company, West Gharbia Sector, who addressed the current status of the electricity network and emphasized the importance of adopting conscious behaviors for rationalizing household and institutional energy consumption. He also explained how every citizen can contribute to reducing electrical loads and preserving state resources through simple and effective technical methods.
   This symposium is a part of a series of events organized by the Crisis and Disaster Management Unit to educate students and staff on how to respond positively to current challenges and transform energy conservation into a sustainable lifestyle that contributes to achieving sustainable development.
