Economy and Public Finance Departement

The Department of Economics and Public Finance is considered the base of commercial sciences. It is necessary to study commercial sciences in order to be aware of the principles and economic fundamentals. Hence, the Department provides the chance to the beginners to be aware of the economic principles which help students to depend on methodological foundations of economic thinking through studying the principles of macro and micro economics in the first year. Then, their economic thinking can be expanded through studying the macro and microeconomic theory in the second year and linking these foundations to cases of practical reality that allow students to understand a lot of economic problems of the macro and micro levels, locally and globally.
Studying the principles of economics of money, banking and foreign trade, enable the student to build a practical reality in many institutions and industrial, commercial and service companies.
Specific study at the department in the third year, allows the students to be aware of the principles of work in banking institutions, financial institutions and private consultancy offices for the economic feasibility of the project and the various industrial companies where graduates of the Department can work in economic research departments in all industrial and commercial establishments. Moreover, study allows the students to be able to learn the basics of projects and evaluate their profitability.

Study at the Department of Economics and Public Finance includes the following courses:

• The macro and micro-economic theory in the second year
• Economics of Money and Banking in the third year
• Contemporary Issues in Economics in the fourth year

The department seeks to graduate qualified cadres equipped with science, knowledge and experience in the field of administration to be able to work in the local, regional and global labor markets.
