The Journal of Accounting Research, published by the Accounting Department at Faculty of Business, has achieved a Q1 ranking, placing it among the top-tier journals in its field, according to the 2026 report of the Arab Citation and Impact Factor (ARCIF).
The announcement was released by Prof. Yasser Al-Garf, Faculty Dean, who hailed the achievement as a new milestone in the ongoing efforts to advance postgraduate studies and scientific research.
According to an official letter issued by ARCIF, affiliated with E-Marefa Database, the organization has released its 11th annual report for 2026. The report showed that the Journal of Accounting Research successfully met all 32 ARCIF accreditation criteria, among more than 5,650 Arab journals whose data were assessed.
The journal achieved several notable results, including:
• An ARCIF Impact Factor of 1.4141.
• 43rd place among Arab journals included in the overall ARCIF ranking, out of 1,303 accredited journals.
• Third place in the field of Financial and Accounting Sciences, among 16 journals across the Arab world, surpassing the Arab average impact factor of 0.739.
Commenting on the achievement, Prof. Yasser Al-Garf expressed his pride in the journal’s performance, describing it as a distinguished accomplishment for the Faculty of Business at Tanta University. He extended his congratulations to the editorial team, the Postgraduate Studies and Research Department, and the Accounting Department, praising their efforts in achieving this distinction.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dina Abdel Hady, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, said the achievement was the result of sustained efforts and dedicated work to strengthen the research system of the faculty and provide an academic environment conducive to researchers. She concluded by congratulating all members of the faculty on this significant accomplishment.
