Faculty of Business at Tanta University hosted the second day of the “Egyptian Banking System Model for Financial Literacy and Inclusion” for the academic year, 2026/2027. The event took place at the Conference Hall.
The event was held under patronage of Prof. Mohammed Hussain, President of Tanta University, and under supervision of Prof. Al-Sayyed Al-Agouz, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Mahmoud Salim, Acting Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Yasser Al-Garf, Dean of Faculty of Business.
The initiative is part of a cooperation protocol between Tanta University and the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), aimed at promoting financial literacy and preparing students for the labor market. The protocol was signed at the Egyptian Exchange headquarters in downtown Cairo during the opening bell ceremony held as part of Global Money Week.
The model seeks to prepare and qualify the students and graduates from all academic years, specializations, and study programs for careers in the banking sector.
The event was attended by Prof. Ibrahim Obaid, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Rehab Hashim, Director of the Alumni Follow-up Unit.
The session featured Mr. Sa’d Mohammed, Customer Relations Officer at Arab Bank, and Ms. Rawan Al-Degheedy, Senior Customer Relations Officer at Arab Bank.
The representatives delivered an interactive training and educational session covering the latest banking services and activities, as well as financial inclusion mechanisms. They also highlighted the practical skills required to pursue a career in the banking sector, providing an overview of the work carried out by the various departments of the bank and explaining how customer relationships are managed across different client segments.
Students were also given the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with the participating experts. This interaction enriched their practical knowledge and helped bridge the gap between academic study and real-world professional practice.
