Measurement and Evaluation Unit at Faculty of Business organized today a specialized workshop for academic staff and teaching staff entitled; “Preparing the Test Blueprint,” as part of the commitment of the faculty to enhancing the quality of the educational process and developing assessment and evaluation methods.
The workshop, which was held at 12:00 PM in the conference hall, was attended by Prof. Yasser Al-Garf, Dean of the Faculty; Prof. Ibrahim Al-Agamy, Director of the University Measurement and Evaluation Unit; Prof. Abdel Fattah Sa’d, Director of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit at Faculty of Education; Prof. Ramadan Ma’en, Head of the Department of Economics and Public Finance at the Faculty; Dr. Amr Abdel Naby, Acting Director of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit at the Faculty; along with a number of academic staff and assistant staff interested in developing their skills in test construction according to modern scientific standards.
The workshop was delivered by Dr. Tariq Al-Sharbagy, Lecturer at the Department of Media at Faculty of Specific Education. In an academic and practical approach, he addressed the importance of the “Test Blueprint” in:
• Achieving comprehensiveness and balance in the exam paper.
• Linking questions to educational objectives and intended learning outcomes.
• Ensuring fairness in the distribution of exam marks.
• Enhancing the measurement of students’ cognitive and analytical skills.
For his part, Faculty Dean emphasized that organizing this workshop is part of a series of events aimed at applying the latest systems of measurement and evaluation, ensuring that exams are prepared in a precise scientific manner that reflects students’ true academic achievement and contributes to improving the overall quality of educational outcomes at the faculty.
