Prof. Mohammed Hussain, President of Tanta University and Chairman of the University Committee for the Selection of Faculty Deans, announced today that applications are now open for the position of Dean of Faculty of Business.
Applications are open to current professors at Faculty of Business from Saturday, July 18th, 2026, through Saturday, July 25th, 2026.
The University President explained that, according to the nomination schedule:
Monday, July 27th, 2026: Application files will be reviewed, and the preliminary list of candidates will be announced.
Tuesday, July 28th, and Wednesday, July 29th, 2026: The committee will receive appeals.
Thursday, July 30th, 2026: The appeals will be reviewed, and the final list of candidates will be announced.
Tuesday, August 4th, 2026: The committee will evaluate the applicants' files, conduct personal interviews, and prepare the final report. 
Required Application Documents:
Applicants must submit six complete application files (one original and five copies). Each file must include a USB flash drive containing a PDF copy of the complete original application.
Each application file must contain:
1.    An application form. 
2.    An official employment status statement certified by the university. 
3.    A curriculum vitae (CV), signed by the applicant as accurate. 
4.    Supporting documents for all academic and administrative qualifications and activities listed in the CV, including: 
•    Positions previously held 
•    Awards received 
•    Research papers and studies authored or co-authored 
5.    A strategic work plan outlining: 
•    Development priorities 
•    Reform strategies 
•    Development proposals 
•    Plans for institutional improvement 
Evaluation Criteria:
Applications must comply with the criteria specified in Ministerial Decree No. 1365 of 2022, as amended by Ministerial Decree No. 2468 of 2024, including:
•    Leadership abilities 
•    Administrative competencies 
•    Mechanisms for implementing the national vision for higher education and scientific research in line with Egypt Vision 2030 
•    Communication skills 
•    Financial and human resource management capabilities 
•    Research achievements 
•    General professional competencies 
•    The relevance and feasibility of the proposed development plan in relation to the current circumstances and the specified implementation period 
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must:
•    Be a current professor at Faculty of Business at the time of application. 
•    Be actively employed by Tanta University when submitting the application. 
•    Have served as Dean by appointment no more than once previously. 
•    Have no criminal conviction or imprisonment for an offense involving dishonesty or breach of trust, unless officially rehabilitated. 
•    Have no disciplinary penalties, unless they have been revoked, expunged, or officially withdrawn. 
•    Not hold any political party position at the time of nomination or throughout the term of office if appointed. 
Submission of Applications:
Applications will be accepted daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM during the application period (July 18th–25th, 2026).
   All required documents must be submitted to the Secretary of the Selection Committee at the office of the President of Tanta University, who will officially record the date and time of submission on each application file.
