Faculty of Business Concludes the Third Scientific Conference of the Department of Economics and Public Finance


   Economics and Public Finance Department at the Faculty of Business, Tanta University, concluded the activities of its Third Scientific Conference, held under the theme “The Egyptian Economy: Navigating Current Shocks and Building a Competitive Future”.
   The conference was held under patronage of Prof. Mohammed Hussain, President of Tanta University, and under supervision of Prof. Hatem Amin, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research. The event was attended by Prof. Yasser Al-Garf, Faculty Dean; Prof. Tariq Radwan, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Dina Abdel Hady, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research; Prof. Ramadan Ma’en, Conference Chairman; Prof. Manal Affan, Conference Rapporteur; in addition to a distinguished gathering of academic staff and researchers from universities across Egypt.
   Throughout its sessions, the conference examined a range of economic issues and challenges facing the Egyptian economy amid successive global and domestic shocks. Discussions focused on strategies to strengthen economic resilience, enhance adaptability, and support the transition toward a more competitive and sustainable economy.
   For his part, Prof. Yasser Al-Garf noted that the conference generated a number of valuable insights and practical recommendations to support Egypt's economic reform efforts and promote the efficient utilization of available resources and capabilities, contributing to higher and more sustainable economic growth.
   In addition, Prof. Ramadan Ma’en outlined the four main themes of the conference, which included macroeconomic governance and fiscal sustainability in the face of current economic shocks; productive restructuring and international cooperation as foundations for enhancing growth, employment, and developing a new competitive advantage for Egypt; digital governance economics and artificial intelligence applications in business and financial oversight; and the economics of the green transition, clean energy corridors, and emerging global competitiveness standards.
   The conference featured the presentation and discussion of 24 research papers submitted by scholars from universities across Egypt, distributed over four scientific sessions.
   At the conclusion of the conference, participants issued several key recommendations: 
•    The need for structural transformation to build a resilient and competitive economy.  
•    Sound macroeconomic governance is the first line of defense against fluctuations in global markets.
•    Restructuring the production and trade systems to create new competitive advantages for the Egyptian economy.
•    Integrating artificial intelligence into business environments to strengthen governance and financial oversight.
•    Recognizing the green transition as a strategic prerequisite for expanding into global markets and addressing liquidity challenges.
