Faculty of Business at Tanta University, in collaboration with the Faculty of Computer and Information, held today the seminar sessions for the first cohort of the academic Master's program in Business Information Systems (PBIS - Version 1). The event was attended by Prof. Yasser Al-Garf, Faculty Dean; and Prof. Dina Abdel Hady, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research. The seminars were also attended and scientifically supervised by several distinguished professors:
• Prof. Nada Al-Shennawy, Assistant Professor at Computer Engineering and Automatic Control Department, Faculty of Engineering.
• Prof. Yasmin Al-Santil, Assistant Professor at Business Administration Department, Faculty of Business.
• Prof. Aida Nasr, Assistant Professor at Information Technology Department, Faculty of Computer and Information.
• Prof. Omnia Gamal Addin, Assistant Professor at Information Systems Department, Faculty of Computers and Information.
The seminar sessions featured outstanding research presentations by students who have completed their preliminary coursework and are preparing to register their academic Master's theses in Business Information Systems. The topics addressed contemporary areas in information systems, such as data analysis, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence in business environments, demonstrating real interaction between technology and management science.
For his part, Prof. Yasser Al-Garf, Faculty Dean, emphasized that integrating disciplines and expanding research horizons serve as a vital convergence point between business, administrative knowledge, and information systems. He highlighted the faculty commitment to promoting interdisciplinary studies and deepening academic collaboration between university faculties, aligning with the joint cooperation between Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Tanta University to focus on developing interdisciplinary postgraduate programs, enhancing specialization integration, and supporting the principles of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research.
In addition, Prof. Dina Abdel Hady, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, highlighted that the program represents a strategic step toward preparing research and professional cadres capable of linking information systems with the requirements of the business environment, thereby contributing effectively to achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs). She further noted that the active participation of distinguished professors from Faculty of Engineering and Faculty Computer and Information enriches the scientific content of the theses and ensures they are approached from a comprehensive and integrated perspective.
